About Todd McBain

In September of 2021, Todd McBain suffered a torn quadriceps tendon. The rehabilitation process sparked an interest to pursue a new career in which he could help ease others’ pain. A life-long interest and fascination in massage therapies led him to National Holistic Institute (A College of Massage Therapy). He attended its Redding campus and graduated from the core program in May of 2024. In November of 2024, he graduated with a 4.0 from its Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy program. He is currently continuing his therapeutic neuromuscular massage education in NHI's Associates of Applied Sciences program. He is scheduled to graduate in May of 2025,  where he will have completed a total of 1,430 hours and achieved a title of Medical Massage Clinician.

In the field, Todd has accumulated many hours of massage therapy working with clients utilizing a variety of modalities. He is currently working as a massage therapist at Urban Retreat Day Spa in Redding. Prior to graduating, he studied one-on-one with a Certified Rolfer (an advanced form of Structural Integration); held a residency at US Cryotherapy in Redding; and worked numerous sports events in Shasta County. All of which helped hone his skills in the art.

A Redding native, Todd has a passion for sports and once worked as a sports & entertainment journalist and a recreation supervisor. When not working, he can be found exploring the outdoors with his wife, Nikole, and two children - Owen and Neva.

Todd has an interest in hot and cold therapy. He has learned a lot through the Huberman Lab podcast on YouTube, hosted by Andrew Huberman a professor at Stanford University. He enjoys sharing three specific episodes in regards to these topics:
